MNGAMES — setup guide

WHAT YOU NEED

  · Warcraft III 1.26a (The Frozen Throne). No other version works.
    1.27, 1.28 and Reforged will not connect.
  · Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.


DOWNLOAD

  It installs itself and puts a shortcut on your desktop. If an older
  version is already installed it upgrades in place — your account and
  your chosen Warcraft folder are kept.

  The launcher updates itself from then on. You will not need to come
  back to this page for a new build.

  Checksum, if you want to verify what you downloaded:

  Windows will show a SmartScreen warning: "More info" -> "Run anyway".
  The build is not code-signed — a certificate costs around $300 a year
  and has not been bought yet.


SIGNING IN

  There is no password. Type your e-mail, a six-digit code arrives, and
  that is it. You can also sign in with Google.

  The code is valid for a few minutes. If it does not arrive, check the
  spam folder before asking for another one.


PLAYING

  1. Pick a room. Ranked rooms are hosted by the server and the result is
     recorded. Casual rooms are hosted by players, on any map.

  2. Pick a game from the list, or host one yourself.

  3. Press Play. Warcraft III opens.
     Go to Multiplayer -> Local Area Network.
     The game is sitting in the list. Click it.

  You do not need a VPN, port forwarding, or administrator rights after
  the install.


IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG

  The game does not appear in the LAN list
    Warcraft must be on 1.26a. Check the version in the bottom corner of
    the main menu. Close Warcraft, press Play in the launcher again.

  "Please wait" and nothing happens when joining
    The host left, or the map on your machine is a different build from
    the host's. The launcher copies the maps it hosts; a map somebody
    else added by hand may not match.

  The launcher cannot find Warcraft
    Point it at the folder by hand in Settings. It is remembered.

  Still stuck
    Say so in the room chat — somebody is usually there.
